Tomorrow Trust aims to help graduates to have a smooth transition from tertiary to the world of work. With our tertiary programme, which supports students nationally, we aim to equip our students to have better employability skills and stand out from the crowd. With the high youth unemployment rates in South Africa reaching 74%, we want to assist our students to have relevant career competencies.
Employability can be defined as a person’s value in terms of future employment opportunities, which is determined by the accumulation of knowledge, skills, experience, and reputation, which can be invested in new employment opportunities as they arise. At Tomorrow Trust we want to work with our partners to help our students gain work experience and be adequately prepared for the world of work.
What is Career Development?
Career development is the ongoing process by which individuals progress through a series of stages, each characterized by a relatively unique set of issues, themes, and tasks.
The cycle of career decision making and choices:
As part of our tertiary programme, we would want every student to be aware of their abilities,
passion, skills, and talents to help them plan their career path. Our workshops are facilitated by our tertiary team and we have speakers from corporates, large organisations and entrepreneurs in our network circle.
These are perfect learning opportunities for the students and creates the platform to engage with professionals in their respective study programs. This exposure helps them to be motivated to complete their degrees and be open-minded when making career choices.
