The Tomorrow Trust is proud to announce another set of truly exceptional matric results. The Cohort of 97 matric learners in our programme, who wrote the 2021 Senior National Examination have not only passed, but they achieved great marks.

The achievements are exceptional under any circumstances, and after two years affected heavily by the pandemic. The support and care from our staff and our teachers provided the confident foundation from which our Matrics have soared.

The top 5 of our learners that are Basetsana Seboyana, Dineo Phala, Patience Temba, Lalumbi Makatwane, and Makhosazana Aphane have achieved more than 5 distinctions with an average pass of over 89%.

Amid COVID-19, our Grade 12s weathered the storm, and they have achieved a 91% Pass rate compared to a National Pass rate of 76.4%.

Collectively, learners obtained 70% Bachelor Pass (75% being Female learners), whilst the National average for a Bachelor Pass was 34.9%, proving that the Tomorrow Trust’s additional support substantially assisted these learners.   

When comparing The Tomorrow Trust performance, specifically in one of the country’s toughest subjects Mathematics and Physical Sciences, with the National Senior Certificate Outcomes, our learners have achieved the following:

  • 85% of Tomorrow Trust learners achieved 30% and more in comparison to 57,6% of learners nationally achieving 30% and more in Mathematics.
  • 88% of Tomorrow Trust learners achieved 30% and more compared to 69% of learners nationally achieving 30% and more in Physical Sciences.

By the end of their final year at school in 2021, the performance of Grade 12 learners had improved to a group average of 59%, with English at 70% and Mathematics at 50%

Over the 10 years, we have impacted 862 Grade 12 learners directly, with 75% of them achieving a bachelor pass.

Note:  Out of the 67 learners who got the bachelor pass:

  • 45,3% are females
  • 28% are males
