From an early age, missing a day of school was never considered an option whether due to illness or heavy rain. His parents instilled in him the principles of hard work, discipline, and honesty, values that continue to shape his journey.
He is currently a final-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student at a university in the Eastern Cape. His path to this point was not without challenge. He completed his entire first year of study without any financial funding, navigating both academic demands and financial uncertainty. This changed when he received a life-changing call from Tomorrow Trust informing him that he would be funded from his second year onward. He officially joined the Trust at this pivotal moment.
The transition into second year brought increased academic pressure. One of his greatest challenges was managing the heightened academic demands while carrying financial anxiety. The support provided by Tomorrow Trust proved transformative. Beyond financial assistance, the ongoing personal and psychological support played a critical role in his development. His counsellor encouraged him to balance his academic responsibilities with sports and community involvement, guidance that helped him build a sustainable and healthy path forward.
Being part of Tomorrow Trust enabled him to fully engage in his studies with the confidence that a supportive community stood behind him. This sense of security empowered him to explore opportunities beyond the classroom. In 2024, he volunteered at a national organisation serving visually impaired individuals. He later assumed leadership roles within his residence and an academic honour society, while consistently mentoring fellow students throughout his university journey.
Through workshops and masterclasses, the Trust’s staff have continued to offer inspiration and guidance. Sessions focused on networking and overcoming imposter syndrome have been particularly impactful, strengthening his confidence and shaping his academic and professional outlook.
As he approaches the completion of his degree, he is determined to graduate with distinctions. His aspiration is to become a leader and change-maker in the field of pharmacy in South Africa. The holistic support of Tomorrow Trust has been fundamental to his growth and to where he stands today.

Ndou comes from a small rural village in South Africa and was raised by an incredible mother who was unemployed for most of his upbringing. Growing up in this environment played a significant role in motivating him to take responsibility for his future and to work towards changing his circumstances not only for himself, but to make his mother proud. While his family was not extremely poor, they were not financially secure, and affording university fees remained a constant challenge.
In 2025, he joined Tomorrow Trust while pursuing his Honours degree in Computer Science at a leading university in Gauteng. From the moment he became part of the programme, Tomorrow Trust felt like a family. The people were supportive, genuine, and deeply invested in his success. They did everything in their power to ensure that he could pursue his dreams without unnecessary obstacles or setbacks.
One of the main challenges he faced was time management, particularly balancing academic demands with personal responsibilities. Through Tomorrow Trust’s regular check-ins, mentorship, and access to psychological support, he developed effective time management skills and learned how to maintain a healthy balance. This support made a meaningful difference in both his academic performance and personal wellbeing.
Tomorrow Trust also opened doors to valuable opportunities. Through the programme, he secured an internship that strengthened his professional skills and built his confidence. The masterclasses offered covering leadership, career development, and financial literacy played a significant role in shaping his future and preparing him for life beyond university. Each session added value and left a lasting positive impact.
He is proud to have completed his Honours degree cum laude. This achievement, however, was not his alone it was shared with the Tomorrow Trust community. He often spoke about his goal of graduating with distinction, and the belief, encouragement, and motivation he received from the Trust helped him turn that goal into reality.

He became part of Tomorrow Trust in 2023, while in matric, by joining their holiday and Saturday school program. This provided him with academic support and mentorship at a critical stage of his life. Being part of the programme not only strengthened his studies but also gave him a sense of belonging and encouragement. It showed him that he was not alone in his journey and motivated him to believe in his potential and work diligently toward his future goals.
At the beginning of his first year at university, he initially struggled to manage the academic workload. With the guidance of a psychologist provided by Tomorrow Trust, he developed effective coping strategies to manage stress and stay organized. This approach allowed him to find balance in his studies and achieve three distinctions in his first year, boosting his confidence in his ability to grow and succeed.
In 2025, he was admitted to a university to pursue a BSc in Mathematical Science. Although he successfully registered, he felt uncertain about continuing due to lack of funding, as his mother could not afford the fees. When Tomorrow Trust awarded him a bursary, it lifted a significant burden. The financial stress that had clouded the beginning of his year was removed, enabling him to focus fully on his studies. Moira is a 20-year-old student pursuing her dream of supporting individuals who find themselves in circumstances where they are unable to speak up for themselves and have lost hope. She is currently studying Psychology at The South African College of Applied Psychology, driven by a commitment to transform lived experience into meaningful advocacy and service.
Her personal and academic journey has been shaped by resilience, responsibility, and perseverance in the face of significant adversity. She was raised by her older sister, and although she is acquainted with both of her parents, they were not actively involved in her upbringing. As a result, she was required to mature early and develop independence under circumstances that offered limited emotional and financial support.
She is a mother to a four-year-old son, a role that has profoundly influenced her sense of purpose and direction. Becoming a mother was the result of sexual abuse an experience that altered the trajectory of her life. When this trauma was disclosed within her home environment, it was not acknowledged or addressed in a supportive manner. The absence of validation and understanding resulted in profound isolation, compelling her to internalise her pain and continue functioning without the opportunity to heal.
For an extended period, this trauma was carried in silence, shaping her emotional wellbeing and self-perception in ways that were not immediately understood. Despite this, Moira remained committed to pursuing a future defined by growth and possibility rather than by the circumstances of her past.
In 2024, while in Grade 12 and preparing for her final matriculation examinations, she joined Tomorrow Trust. At the time, she was completing her preliminary examinations and grappling with overwhelming uncertainty about her future. Financial constraints made the prospect of tertiary education seem unattainable, and she had begun to accept the likelihood of seeking employment immediately after matriculating.
Within her home environment, she frequently experienced a lack of emotional support, which intensified feelings of displacement and instability. Tomorrow Trust entered her life at a critical juncture, offering renewed hope and a tangible pathway toward a different future.
Prior to joining Tomorrow Trust, Moira’s challenges extended beyond financial hardship. She was navigating unprocessed trauma while attempting to plan for her academic future. She had learned how to endure adversity, but not how to heal from it.
Her involvement with Tomorrow Trust marked a significant turning point. For the first time, her experiences were met with understanding, compassion, and belief. Being listened to and believed proved transformative. Tomorrow Trust provided a safe and supportive environment where her voice was respected and her experiences were validated, fostering a deep sense of belonging.
Through their holistic support social, emotional, and financial she was guided toward self-awareness and healing. The organisation consistently acted in her best interests, offering mentorship, protection, and encouragement during periods of vulnerability. Their commitment to her wellbeing enabled her to rebuild confidence and regain a sense of direction.
Today, Moira is a second-year Psychology student, with her academic path deeply informed by lived experience and a commitment to supporting others who have faced trauma and marginalisation. Reflecting on her journey, she recognises the significant distance she has travelled from uncertainty and silence to purpose and voice.
Tomorrow Trust was the answer to prayers voiced long before there was language to articulate pain. Their presence was both timely and transformative. Even when she had reached what felt like rock bottom, Tomorrow Trust demonstrated that growth, healing, and upward movement were still possible.
